My bag of Autarky has gone mouldy.. Well the food inside the bag has.
Really weird!!??

Right, its stored in a cool, dry place.. Stored in the same place as always, and i have never had any mouldy kibble before..
This current bag of Autarkys i keep finding moultdy peices of food everytime i scoop some out.

Heres some pictures to show you what i mean

I can't understand why this is happening.. I was about half way through the bag when i noticed bits of it mouldy.
It's not been kept for to long. My bags always last 2 or so months, and iv not had this one any longer than the others, and this has never happened before.
Everytime i feed Leo, im constantly picking out these bits!! Its horrible.
Any ideas why this has happened to this bag?
Should i call Autarky to complain? Have they even a helpline i could call?

Thanks xx

Funny you should mention this.

As soon as I opened the current bag of Autarky Corbie is on, he started to eat slower and leave more and more - something he has never done. I can only think it is the bag but it's not mouldy anywhere. I've had to buy a different brand (Wilsons) to mix in with it so he eats it, as I was fed up of having to mix it with gravy all the time (he wouldn't eat it otherwise). I don't know if this bag is dodgy or if he's just gone off the food, as I say, he's never done it until I opened that particular bag, or maybe the timing was just a coincidence?

I would give them a call Jill, if your doing the same as you always have with the Autarky it could be a one off or maybe a batch problem.

Is there a helpline number on the bag?, thought most pet food co`s put one on.

As Karen seems to have a similar problem, (although its not mouldy) it sounds like it could be a batch problem, maybe some damp got in while it was being made, I`d definately get on to them, they may have had other complaints as well Smile

Glad you mentioned this. The new bag I opened a week or so ago (although delivered about a month ago or so) Doobs has been really picky over. I have to soak in water first or he takes ages to eat it. Which is not like him. I empty the bag into a liner and it goes in a kitchen bin and kept in a storage room outside - as I have always done. So I have no batch number to hand to see if it matches yours.

Also I have noticed hos coat looks a bit dull lately - which could be a coincidence as he is moulting for England at the moment!

I'll go check the batch number when i get a chance, and post it later.

I tried calling the number, but they are closed until tomorrow.

I know i posted originally saying its mouldy, but now that both yourself and Karen mention your dogs being more picky over it.. So is Leo.
Recently, Leo has been eating a lot slower than usual.
Usually he absolutely hoovers his food up, but hes actually been really slow over it. One of the reasons he's been finishing it is because i have been mixing a tin of butchers in with his food.
hmmmm.... bit strange

I'm just sending an email to CSJ K9 where I get Corbie's from to see if anyone else has reported similar.

Good Idea Karen.
I buy mine from Costco in Edinburgh.
I'm going to phone that helpline number tomorrow.
This certainly is strange that all 3 are being picky about their food and my bag has mouldy contents.
