Ok Max is on RC and I am going to change him On to Orijen after many great reviews on here as he eats RC but takes a while so I have some questions if anyone could please help.

Which puppy food should I get Max is 15 weeks and is from show parents and is quite big.

How should I do the change over should I mix with RC at first.

Thanks very much for any replies

Cheryl

I've got the yellows in the house on Orijen and I have to say I love it! They love it and they are in great condition. Huds will be on it as soon as he finishes our current stock of Burns!!!

I believe that Orijen don't consider labs as large breed, so the regular orijen puppy would do. Really the only difference between the puppy and the adult is the size of the kibble! Thats my understanding.

I feed the Adult version, 80... 20... as those are the same percentages for puppy I'm assuming they are of the same composition! The kibbles are not that large even on the adult.

Yes Very Happy

You need to start by just a small amount of Orijen mixed in with a slightly reduced amount of RC. I would increase and decrease the respective amounts slowly until you are completely on orijen and I would do it over a week to ten days.

good luck with the switch over! We are currently changing George from Eukanuba to fish4dogs to see if it reduces his hyper moments! We thought he was doing well on eukanuba, (lovely coat, nice weight/poops) and the breeders have had lovely results from it, but as he gets older he is struggling to concentrate. We took him to a puppy class and he was hyper the entire time, whereas all the other dogs settled after a short time. He is similar at home to the point where you can't do much with him. Trainer said it was probably his loopynuba food. She did recommended switching to a low protein food, but she also recommended orijen which i thought was a 30% protein. Anyway we'll see how he does on fish for4dogs.

Hope Max likes orijen!

Thanks I will get the normal puppy food and switch over slowly over the week.

Gemma I was just thinking of George this morning glad he is doing Ok I wouldn't worry to much about the puppy class as Max went the other night and was also the naughty dog I think its just they like playing.

I rang Orijen up to get the puppy food and they said Max should have the large breed puppy so I have ordered it and should be here next week.

Fingers crossed he likes it there is another bowl of RC left.

I hope Max likes his new orijen and also hope it suits him, having just met a pup on Bakers (not mine I hasten to add) I'm in no doubt as to how food affects behaviour but also have to agree that puppy class can be so mega exciting when you're a tiny pup so don't worry at all about how they behave if we were all perfect none of us would need to be there!

I have just changed my 2 from orijen to arden grange sensitive mixed with burns as he was constantly at the vets with anal gland probs, ear infections , also my sister has changed her labradoodles to arden grange as her youngster had constant runny poos every dog is different and if its not broke dont need to fix it. Iis the protein that is doing it for my 2 but dont b put off as said above all are different Smile
