HEHEHEHHEHEHE OK the long awaited day dawned it was TENT day. There was no rain nor wind hubby had ran out of excuses so off we went.
They say a picture speaks a thousand words so here we go,
10.20am
10.21am and we're off!
10.30am we started to get an inkling that the garden wasnt going to be big enough
lots of swearing and 'whose idea was camping in the first place' followed by excited puppy running all over the tent material and general chaos and then at 11.15am
DONT even get me started on the instruction whats a ferule anyway???? AND when the instructions we which are in some form of 'campers short hand' say the poles are colour coded that translates as 2 have a grey sticker and 2 are bare I was beginning the regret the fact that I had ever muttered the words tent and was day dreaming about travelodge bookings and PROPER WALLS!
I then remembered that on this day 4 years ago we had just checked into a sumptious water bungalow fit for royalty in the maldives then later that evening hubby proposed on a moonlit beach - my brain then screechingly focused back to the present and i look at my semi erected tent - WHERE DID I GO WRONG????
11.30 we have a TENT!!!!!!
Midday we have inner tent and bedrooms and a puppy running around in the tent LOVING it
Ruby nicking the instructions
it even has a backdoor!!!!!!!!
So now the dismantling which was actually very easy and I did in 45 mins - I even managed to get it back in the bag!!!!!
I tell you what though I feel SUCH a sense of achievement - I can put up a tent
LOL Vicky, love the stage by stage pics!, up in less than two hours isn`t bad at all, bet you`ll be a lot quicker next time , Ruby nicking the instructions doesn`t matter, you said they were useless anyway
Ahh - fantastic! Its all about team work - and what a team-player that Ruby is . Hey - you're one step ahead of me anyawy - I've not even got a tent! Becs's gang will be easily spotted at the GT as we will have the piece of washing line and a double sheet!!!!!
You do know how to have a good time Vicky!!!
Love Becs and the Gang
Ah but Vic the trick now is to get it up in force 9 gale with the rain pouring down I got my tent up and down in the garden umpteen times and then.........
went camping .......
twice......
each time it hammered down on the day and the wind kept on nicking the tent and flying it of down the camp site normally with me attached and the ground is guaranteed to be full of bricks just to stop you getting them damn pegs in ....
sure its done on purpose for experienced campers entertainment
Vic you do make me chuckle!! The stage by stage pictures, I bet hubby loved you even more for stopping and taking those!! How classic is it as well that Ruby cleared off with the instructions!! he he he he ROTFLMAO
At least you got there in the end and you should be proud - lets just hope its not just raining when you have to do it next time!!
