Hey all,
Sadie is nearly 6 months now and we are still soaking her food. We were told we could stop doing this after 12 weeks by the breeder, but decided to carry on having read a bit about it on the forums re. digestive benefits etc.
Now I'm just wondering when is the best time to start weaning her onto non-soaked food? It's no real trouble to soak it but I would like her to get onto dry soon because she has nearly all her adult teeth and i know crunchy kibble helps keep them clean! Any advice?

I have never soaked Corbie's dried food so can't help, but maybe gradually soak it less and less or just try a meal one day without it soaked and see what happens.

Baxter's nearly 8 months and we still soak his - he tends to 'inhale' it and have a bit of a choking fit if we don't. We give him plenty of other stuff to keep is teeth clean, so intend to soak his food for good.

I think the choking thing has been mentioned somewhere else, but I can't find it!

I soak until around the 12 week mark then go over to just adding a little water as I feed. Amy was not keen on soaking so I cut this our early. I continue just adding a little water until about a year old. Amy will be a year old next week and I tried her dry but she seemed to prefer it with water so you can see, I'm quite relaxed about it.

Regards, John

Hi

ive never even thought about this really, but i soak Abbeys just for a few minutes to soften it down a little and she eats it fine. I will probably carry on soaking it as i thought it made them feel fuller as it swells up a bit ?

We're still soaking Bella's at 6 months although she has all her adult teeth. We were thinking of stopping a couple of months ago but I think we're gonna leave it for a bit longer as you know their having plenty of water. Smile

Like the idea of 'floating' vicky - I've done this once or twice before when i've forgotten to soak her food overnight, thanks folks!
