Hi all

Just wondering what you fed your puppy on? I want to stick with dry food but I have no idea what is best?

I believe that our breeder will supply us with a bag of Nutro Complete biscuit to get us started and also provide us with feeding instructions.

Do any of you use this at the moment?

What recommendations for food do you have?

TIA

Tracey x

Lots of people on here swear by Burns, I used to feed jake on James Wellbeloved, but changed him to Arden grange large puppy/junior last month, he was so picky about what he would eat then suffered a tummy upset the vet thinks caused by something he had ingested in the garden Laughing and really went off food unless i put a little sardine on it, but Arden he loves and will even eat it dry, Started him on that as he seemed to love my daughters dogs food which was Arden, he even now tries to help himself to the bin we keep it in, the little monkey, but whatever your sent home with, I personally would stick with that till she has settled in for a week or so as you dont want an upset tum and then gradually change her to whatever you decide on

I'm sure the others will have lots of info you, there are loads of topics on this subject here

Hi there

We now feed both of our 'big puppies' (18 months and 1 year old!) on Burns which suits them both very well.

When we first got Smudge, he was on Bakers Complete which accounted for some of his hyperness! Lots of additives I believe. We then switched to James Wellbeloved as this was a more natural food and readily available here. We moved to Burns as we won a bag of it at last years GT, tried Smudge on it and were impressed with the results. It also has the benefits of being a very natural food and is not tested on animals.

All the best,
Nic

In my opinion Nutro is a good food, although I could never get Dexter to eat it!!!! So eventually found Burns and never looked back!!! it's up to you though, lots of things to consider.. not sure what Nutro's stance on animal testing is, if that's important to you, but it's definitely an expensive food to say the least!!!

I'm very keen to use Burns I think as I have heard such good things about it. I will keep her on the Nutro when she comes home and then gradually try to ween her onto Burns.

As regards cost - I didn't even think about this have been too caught up in the excitement of getting her!!! Embarassed Embarassed

hehe.. i think burns is fab!! actually, i think i should work for them Smile I think nutro's around £40 for 15kg, whereas burns is about £33, so over time that's quite a difference. You might as well settle her in on Nutro though, to avoid any upsets. Can't wait to see piccies of your little madam, they looked sooooooooo gorgeous from the one the other day... I WANT ONE!!!!
