Today Mid Downs held the second day of their two day show, which is held within the Autumn Fair, so is an entertainment for the public as well as a competition.

To say the ground was damp was an understatement. Shocked The ring had to be moved into the sand and rubber school, which is designed for horses in all weather, so was perfectly safe. However mid morning it started to rain, and rain, and rain, and BUCKET down. Rolling Eyes By the afternoon you were running through puddles. It was still safe, don't get me wrong, but it was not very pleasant.

However, if just goes to show what wonderful dogs Labradors are! In the awards for the final class, when the conditions were really soggy, were at least 5 Labradors, 4 of whom are owned and run by friends of mine Very Happy (Very well done Sue, Tracey and Val!!). My friend Sue had 4 places from her dogs today, which is really fantastic. Very Happy It was so nice to see a normally collie dominated sport with so many Labs doing so well.

Our own boys didn't feature in the awards today, except perhaps in Ash's case, for entertainment! Laughing He ran very early on in the agility, and fell into the inviting trap of a detour via the Aframe. I must add, many dogs fell into the same trap, in fact there were very few clear rounds. However not every dog entertained the crowd quite like Ash! He stands at the top of the Aframe, wagging his tail, and surveying the whole showground, and smiling at the spectators! Laughing The crowd loved it!

Oak and Sam (hubby's Lab) had a couple of "novice dog" errors (not helped by their dopey handlers!), but got a super double clear round in the pairs, so we are happy. They ran well, despite the rain.

It was a nice day, but I did feel sorry for the organisers, as the numbers of visitors would be badly down. Sad

Katy
