An interesting pedigree. You have some lovely dogs there including some with brains! You also of course have the American link starting with Receiver of Cranspire who was bred in the UK but later exported to the US where it could be said that he almost single handedly founded the modern Labrador over there. Just as almost all Labs in the UK decend from Ruler of Blaircourt so most in the US decend from Receiver.

Basically it's a show dog pedigree, but in includes breeders who have added a little working blood into their lines. Penny Carpanini (Carpenny) Carol Coode (Warringah) and Joy Venturi-Rose (Leospring) all have dogs which can work. There was a decendant of Warringah Burra in the Gamekeepers Ring at Crufts this year.

I know Carpenny Attitude - aka Marmalade or Aoilidh - she's the dog whose owner put me in touch with Penny in order to be considered for a Carpenny dog. I take it that you got your pup from Penny?

We're hoping to have a Carpenny pup mid/late April, so will certainly have some dogs in common there.

Confused Is your little one yellow?

Kerri

BTW I think - although Kay could correct me here - that Carpenny Attitude is litter sister to Carpenny Anchorman who won BOB at Crufts a couple of years ago.

I've never quite been able to work out her "System" for names. A lot of breeders work their way through the alpherbet, first litter all "A"'s second all "B"'s and so on. Another friend used themes, Wild flowers for one and sea themes for another.

Attitude and Anchorman are both by Augustus Tuplady Of Leospring out of Covetwood Emotions Of Carpenny but Annika is by Anchorman out of Carpenny Coral! My poor old brain cannot cope with these complications!

Anchorman is out of SH CH Covetwood Elouise of Carpenny by Sire - Augustus Tuplady of Leospring (FTW) so unless there was more than one mating, they probably are litter mates Smile

Anchorman I believe is a CH as he has also proved himself with a working certificate

Nice pedigree Wink

Her system is quite simple John, and for me, makes her generations very easy to follow....having Carpenny dogs myself (and another one arriving end of April) I think I have them very nearly memorised.....

Penny names her pups with the initial of the Stud....

Webster sired Walpole and all littermates begin with W,Walpoles sired Whist and all littermates again begin with W.....

Anchorman sired Annika and all littermates begin with A

Kaspair Only You Sired Orange Blossom and all her littermates begin with O, actually most of the are Orange something Smile ie Orangepekeo etc

My Carpenny Echo is sired by Executor, his litter brother is Eric etc.

Bonhomie is by Trenow Brigadier

And Rustina is by Kamrats Rustibus

Hope this makes it all a little clearer Very Happy

John - I believe that Penny takes the first letter of the sire's name as the initial letter of the pups' names from that litter to remember to whom she mated the bitch. Is that correct, Sue?
