Just wondering if anyone can give me some help.
I've got loads of queries so here goes;

I read on here somewhere about giving your doggy garlic tablets, now I know this is probably obvious but are there special dog ones you can buy or is it just ones for humans?And what dosage?

Has any one heard of or fed their dog Pero dog food? I got a bag from crufts last week which is called Labrador Life, its brown rice and salmon flavour. Pop's seems to like it.I want to get her off pedigree (dried) after reading how they test it.Nough said!I feel awful I've fed her that muck.

And finally for now any one use a special washing powder for washing their dogs bedding?I just use non bio, either Fairy or Persil.But should I be using this?

It's just Pop's had to go to the vets 2 weeks ago because she kept scratching her armpits(don't know technical term for them but that sounds nice!)and licking her inner thighs!! The vet gave her anti biotics and anti inflamatries for a week. When we went back she hadn't been licking or scratching all week but the vet gave us 5 days more of drugs, which she has now finished.The vet said if she starts to scratch again she'll have to have blood test to see if she has any allergies and that it would cost several hundred pounds to do these! Shocked
Does this sound about right ?

Any advice on any of these matters would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks muchly.

Hi Debs

First point about food, I have never give Garlic tabs to my dogs, however I have heard that its good for resisting fleas, although you must be careful as too much Garlic can give dogs anemia and can make them seriously ill, I do however believe that Dene's do a doggy version as do Dorwest Herbs.

Have never used Pero food, I feed mine Burns which they both thrive on, you also might find the skin allergy related to food rather than washing powder, but I use Non BIo as well and mine are fine.

I have fed Pero to Dylan,and he loved it.I use Persil and always tend to use the same things for cleaning etc as Dylan has a lot of Intollerance/Allergies and is on an elimination diet at the moment from a dermatologist.Sorry cant comment on garlic tablets as I have never used them.

Branwen and Littlelab , thanks for your answers.I didn't think it would be the washing powder as I've always used those 2 brands and nothing else since before we got Pops.

I must admit I wonder if it is food related,so I'll watch what I give her to eat.
