What do others use?

Looking for a strong solid lead for a puller (do use a cannie), but something not to wide for my small hands.

I use Red Dingo leads. They seem pretty sturdy and are very comfortable to hold - padded handles.

I use a Rogz medium lead now but I also have a Halti training lead.

With a training lead you can extend it, hold it in a loop, then when your dog starts to pull you drop the loop and change direction, leaving your dog behind to catch up with you. If you are persistent with this the dog will learn to stay with you rather than pulling ahead.

However, a training lead has a second clip and some D rings at various places and if you're not careful you can get your fingers stuck in those rings. I also ripped my finger open when Coco pulled the lead out of my hand unexpectedly and the clip somehow caught me (I don't know how because it isn't particularly sharp). The halti training lead is lovely and soft and padded, so in that respect it is good.

I didn't find the Rogz lead particularly comfortable to start with but it has softened and feels better now.

The most comfortable leads I have seen are some very soft rope ones, similar to horse lead ropes but with a handle at the end. They are quite thick and bulky though.

I use the Halti training lead. It's soft and padded and doesn't hurt my hands when Max pulls. Also you can adjust it to whatever length you want. Would highly recommend it.

I have used a halti, a gencon and a mukhuti harness, but in the end the good old slip lead had been the best. I have to say though that I didn't want to used a slip lead when the pulling was at it's worst through fear of damage, but it works well now as a reminder.

I have a brilliant one by linky that I bought at crufts

the ergo short lead and control collar. Shorter than a normal slip lead and has a lovely foam handle.

"Ezy dog" has great choice of specialy designed lead with shock-absorbing properties. I have brought two leads from them a while ago, because my husband has problems with his hand and we are very happy with them.
They have two different handles, check it on their website.
