Hey all :0)
Sorry to be a pain, But I am just looking about at Kongs, and I wanted to ask advice about the Kong stuffing for puppys, do you recommend it? it seems it helps keep their teeth clean as well..
If you use the Kong stuffing, is that all you put in it at that time? or could you put something else inside to make it more fun?
Sorry but I so want to get this right :0

I kind of steered clear of the stuffings I break bits of bread up (without the crust) and stir them into gravy - kind of gravy porridge and stuff it and freeze it - I let it all drip over the side to make it more delicious. I also tried peanut butter spread bread which she loved too but thought if it made me thirsty wasnt fair to leave her in her crate with it if she had no water available and dont want wet crate to come home to (ruby gets a Kong when we go out) so have stuck to the gravy bread.
Ruby now knows she gets the left over mush (mixed in water to cool it gross but she loves it) if i am preparing Kongs so sits next to me in breathless anticipation for it

I use squeezy cheese in Mojo's Kong. Sometimes I put some dried food in first then a squeeze of cheese on top .

Question for all you frozen Kong devotees - how long does it take your pooches to empty the Kong once it comes out the freezer? I imagine they would have to lick and lick and lick until it melts?

used to take hours and hours and hours and I would find soggy bits at the bottom - now I would say about 30 mins. Not 100% sure though I will time her tonight

yep its the one way that i get a good hours peace and quiet as max will treat it like a lollipop and hold it between his paws and lick and lick he will then start picking it up and dropping it on the floor to see if he can get anything else out of it

Another good thing I've found for puppy Kongs is puppy nature diet. The tiny amount you use isn't particularly calorific, and although it's just normal dog food, when they're fed dry, the wet stuff is a real treat!!! And at least I know that nature diet sticks to the same principles as Burns. Off to buy Amber a new Kong now, she can finish hers in a couple of minutes think it's a bit small!!!
