Luna is currently taking vet sold 'Vetri-Joint' tablets containing, per tablet (she has 1 a day, since ED suspected):
Glucosamine sulphate 800mg, MSM 600mg, Chrondroitin sulphate 400mg, Curcuma 100mg. With some vit C, vit E and zinc in too.

The tablets are big, powdery and yellow - Luna won't eat it straight and won't eat her food if its sprinkled on; however, she licks it up with enjoyment if I powder it and mix it with Kong paste.
I'll keep doing this for the rest of her life if need be; however, I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a liquid alternative or a nice textured treat (I think the powdery texture puts her off) sort of alternative???

Hi
Lottie has Glycoflex which she wolfs down, only 1/2 a tablet but for 6 weeks she was on a whole one. The vet said they taste of fish but I've not tried one Laughing Laughing
Will check the contents and post again in a min.

Take a look at Synflex:
http://www.synflexforpets.co.uk/

You'd need the one on the left that says for pets. Someone recommended it to me sometime last year and we've gone through about 5 bottles now and I think it's really good Smile

ok,here goes.
They are Glycoflex 1 (there is also a 2 and a 3,I think for working dogs and pups or something like that...you can find that online)
They contain,
600mg green lipped mussel
500mg glucosamine HCI
50mg N,N-Dimethylglycine
She is only 25kg so has 1/2 a tab for maintenance.Over that it's 1 tablet.
They cost me £35 for 90 tablets (6 months) but you can find them cheaper online
Hope that helps

I use Flexivet for Anna which she takes like sweets.

http://www.vetuk.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4_178&products_id=162

Try a small box and see how you get on.

Regards, John

Hi again (I need to get a life)
I've just really annoyed myself by Googling the Glycoflex to see that the one Lottie's on is £18.50 on Pet Meds.Oh well, you live and learn.
I looked at the 2 and 3 for you and the 2 seems to be for recovery from sprains and stuff but the 3 looks a good bet for you...depending on how serious a problem Luna has.Take a look...

Thanks for saying Lottie is gorgeous! So is Luna-tic!!

I'm not sure of the texture of kong paste as I've never used it but I give Elsa some large capsules every day that I put inside cheap chicken spread or pate. I put the paste into the palm of my hand, place the capsule in the middle and roll it into a ball. Elsa just wolfs it down. It barely touches the side. If by any chance she bites into it and gets a taste I quickly give her another little ball of paste. Then she thinks she must have imagined the funny taste she got Laughing

I don't think vets sell Synflex so I doubt they will recommend it, but it's one of many things we've tried over the years and I think we shall be sticking with it. It's a liquid and I put it on my dog's food, though if I forget they're happy to lick it neat from the bowl.
