I am fostering Duke for Friends of The Animals RCT & have their permission to post him here.

Duke was handed over to Friends of The Animals RCT after a request for help from a drug and drink abuse agency. The agency worker is a dog lover and has been trying to get Duke out for a very long time. He is 5 years old and has lived for a number of years in a small room with twice daily visits to the garden . His owner was an alcoholic and out most of the time so Duke spent many hours alone Sad

Here's the lovely boy

Duke is living with me in Milton Keynes & is sharing with 7 other dogs ranging in size from a Yorkie to a German Shepherd. He was introduced to my dogs this afternoon & coped really well, he was playing tuggy with my staffie x within an hour of arriving. He loves my children aged 10 & 12 & is eager to play as much as possible He knows sit & paw & will roll over & ask for his tummy to be tickled.

Duke is very unfit due to lack of exercise so needs building up. He had his first walk with me this afternoon on an extending lead & managed to trot along quite happily for 25 minutes. He pulled a little bit but I think this was down to the sheer excitement of being out in the big wide world!

We are looking for a home for Duke where he will be helped to blossom, he so deserves a second chance after spending most of his life looking at four walls Sad

Duke has been castrated, wormed, had a health check & his first vaccination.

If you feel you would be able to offer Duke a home please complete this form http://www.friendsoftheanimalsrct.org.uk/14.html and Katherine will contact you for a chat Very Happy

Well done to the agency worker for getting him out, I know how overstretched these people are.

Fingers crossed he will find his forever home soon
