After todays exciting game of rolling around in fox poo (that was Doobie and not me) why do they do it? It seems to Doobie's favourite game at the moment and he is completely oblivious to my calls while having this amount of fun. And not just fox poo either....

I've got no idea why they do it.

I had a collie cross which would do it a couple of times a week. She would smell it in the distance and then make a dash towards it lowering her shoulder as she went. By the time she reached the offending poo she would be going at such speed , she would throw herself in it and slide, so it would cover the whole of one side of her body. She would then jump up and run off as if nothing had happened.

If you blinked you missed it , she got so good at it.

But, oh boy, did you know it when you got her in the car. Rolling Eyes.

I tried the ketchup method too but nothing got rid of the smell like washing up liquid (and she always had a lovely shiny coat).

Jules.

I do not know either, but its such an annoying habit, especially when you have been out for a lovely walk with the dogs and they have been having fun off lead when all it takes is one to have rolled in something and come home stinking. First thing that needs to be done is straight in the bath for a good hose down. Thankfully its only one of mine that has this disgusting habit and if anyone has any ideas on how to break it can they let me know. Confused Embarassed

Max does this - loves nothing better than covering himself in the most revolting smelly stuff. Fortunately, I get to bath him in the baths at work rather than mess my own bathroom!!
