Hi all,

I'm looking for a good quality soft crate, and have found one I like. Just not sure on what size but one is 36"x23"x27" for £49.00 and the other is 43"x26"x29" for £59.00.

Just want to know whether this is reasonable, and whether anyone has brought one for cheaper???

xxxxxx

I bought a soft crate from PAH when Lucy first came home at 8wks. Can't remember the size, but remember it was around £40-£50, but be warned, Lucy broke the zips on it within a week (if the one you're looking at has zips of course)! She went through 2 of the things before we eventually gave in a got a metal crate. But it was useful when she needed to go stay at someone's house, but still have her crate to sleep in (rather than lugging about the metal one).....

Unless Buster is going to be huge, I think you'd probably be OK with a 36" for shows - he won't be in it for very long and space for crates at shows is often limited. I think I paid either £40 or £50 for my 36" one, which is a Petgear one - easy to put up and one of the sturdiest I have come across.

Hope to help.

Vicki

Yes, she was a little madam (still is occasionally Wink ) but if you're using it for shows, then you should need to worry about the zips being broken!

We bought the largest one that was at PAH for Pasco when he was crate rested - we wanted it for upstairs so he wasn't on his own the big softies we are!

Annnnyway. He tried to chew a hole in the floor! Surprisingly didn't manage all the way through, but never saw any attempt at zips! He seems to have given up on digging his way out now and submitted to the idea!!!! I think we paid about £50 odds for it at PAH. Its a 40 inch (I think).... we tried Huds in them all and the smaller one he was too tall for... and Huds is a short arse! Confused

Jemima - Buster won't be left unattended in it!! So hopefully he won't want to chew his way out, we want one to encourage him to settle and rest whilst at the show.

Vicki - thank you for your advice! Will have a look. The only one in stock is a 42". Would that be too big to take to shows?

Feebarn - Will have a look at PAH ones! There are sooo many!!

good thing about PAH is that they will let your dog try it out..... so you can get an idea what size would fit, then go look for one cheaper online!!! Wink

I bought the pet gear green (x-large) for my two to go in at shows and it's plenty big enough so a blue (large) should be fine for you. It's got good chunky zips and opens at the top, sides and an end. It came with a bag and mat. I think it was £60 for the ex-large, from Croft.
