Just read that certain councils are taking marmite off the menu at nurseries and breakfast clubs because they are worried about the salt level Rolling Eyes

I know its salty but its not as though you spread it thickly its just a scraping and I wouldnt have thought it was more salt on a pice of toast than the children eating crisps.

as you say you cant have much as its too strong but just a small amount spread on some bread is yummy Very Happy

marmite on toast and the put CHeese on top then put under the grill love it...

Apparently its not healthy, and the council only wants children to have nutritious breakfasts.

They also only serve low-sugar jam and marmalade - which sounds bloody miserable to me.

Bet they don't serve my winter favourite, two weetabix, covered and sugar with hot milk Wink

I bet there is more salt in the slice of toast than there is in the Marmite they spread on it....Perhaps they should stop giving kids toast too Rolling Eyes

Ooooh Marmite, mmmmmmmmmm, when I went on a lacrosse tour, we were all given shirts with our tour 'nickname' on the back towards the end. Mine shirt had Marmite written on the back, because on a particularly drab coach ride to Melbourne airport, i was so hungry, I started talking about Marmite receipe books, or naming a street 'Marmite Road', or even making little marmite pot houses with round, yellow roofs....i was saying all this whilst dipping my finger in my little pot of marmite that i always take abroad, and one of the coaches overheard...and then the name stuck! lol My sister was called 'Nipples' but I wont go down that road lol Wink
