Hi,
Myself and my wife are going to choose our pup tomorrow. We put a deposit down on one of the litter last week and now were going back to choose our specific pup. So could anyone with far more experiance than us give us some pointers as what to look for, in chooseing a good dog. She will mainly be a pet and company for my wife while i'm away.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
usually if you discuss your lifestyle etc with the breeder they will help you select as at 8 weeks they'll already know a little about each pup.
Personally i stay away from very shy or very bolchy pups.....but how much can you tell at 8 weeks. Pups are really what you make them once you get them home
Do you have any photos or a name for pup yet?

Gosh, its so difficult. Like Basil says, let the breeder guide you. They have been looking at the pups for the last 8 weeks so they know what the wee personalities are like. You will more than likely end up making an arbitrary decision based on looks or who tugs at your trousers/heart strings

Hi Rob and Lou
Since you've already met the pups (checked out your other posts, to see where you're at), I'd probably choose the one which is keen to talk to you. Try not to have the bossiest pup in the litter, they can take some convincing that you are in charge.
I think you can judge a good pup by how it looks - a good shape, moves well, etc - Jed looked good from the first time we met him and has grown up very handsome and much admired.
Have fun choosing!

we asked the breeder for advice , we had three to choose from , one dog was quite bossy ,so we didn't go for him , the one other seemed quite timid , we picked Max out because he didn't seem as mad as the first one, but not sure that we didn't get the mad one by mistake, but wouldn't change him at all , the pup will change once you get him/her settled in your house, and in your routine.
