Maia has high anxiety levels when it comes to loud noises such as Thunder then we moved to the country and a nice (or so I thought) quiet village we now have to contend with Gunshots (countryside hazard..lol), Ordanance disposal, and NOW AIRCRAFT noise!
In particular the Air Show is on at the mo and so for 2 days we have had WW2 bombers, display teams you name it flying over the house, its a NIGHTMARE for poor Maia, she just hides in the corner behind a door waiting for the sky to fall in!
Just now though the noise was so loud she stood and wet herself!
My poor girlie, whatever happened in her past must have been awful

Oh no poor lovely Maia
She is such a lovely girl Natalie. I loved the way she was at the camping weekend. Whatever happened could not of been good for her but slowly with her knowing you and Gary are there am sure she will in time get over this.
Jessie and Dyson send their pal lots of love xx

Oh bless her....I dread to think of her past
Just a thought, have you tried one of those 'noises' CD's??
I only heard of them after puppy classes and our trainer was playing it ever so quietly in the background
Hope she is back to normal once the display has finished

Em - those CD's don't work I am afraid, as she can sit quite happily listening to the telly with loud bangs and fireworks and not a flicker..lol

Poor Maia, my collie type sends his sympathy.
He's definitely noise sensitive, as plenty of collies seem to be as he does not like thunder, fireworks, heavy rain or flies (flies drive him crazy if one comes inside the house). He's not hugely fond of gunshot but it doesn't seem to bother him (from a distance anyway) as much as other things. I think aside from being noise sensitive, he was probably not well socialised as a pup and possibly wasn't particularly well treated either but I shall never know for sure. He was very wary of men when he went into the local rescue though.
You've tried TTouch haven't you, I think I remember you saying. I have a few homeopathic remedies for my boy come fireworks time and a cosy crate, lots of loud music/tv (which doesn't bother him at all thankfully) and some alcohol to relax me so at least he doesn't pick up on my stresses!
for Maia
