Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum but glad I've found it as has got lots of useful posts.

I wondered of anyone could help me understand something our pup (Harry, nearly 12 weeks) has been doing over the last few days? We feed him in his home (a crate) and the last few days he's been eating about of his food then stopping, growling at it and the bowl and pushing it away. I can't see whats triggering it? Its not when we're going to take the bowl away or anything so find it quite strange. Especially as he seems to go back to it and finsh the rest of it as normal after a minute.

Any ideas what might be causing it?

Thanks for your help,

Jo

Erm, not sure - my only thought was that it might be a metal bowl and he's seeing his reflection in it? If it's not a metal bowl that rules that one out ...

Oh I was going to say about the shiny metal bowl thing as well but Angela beat me to it Wink .

Maybe some of his teeth are starting to loosen and with those first few bites they feel funny, so he is blaming the food Wink . I had a bitch that used to growl at food if it was warmer than room temperature, as once she had swallowed a sausage that fell off the grill (it was very hot, didn't even hit the floor before she had swallowed it whole and it came back up still sizzling Shocked ) and ever after that she was very "cross" about hot food. Hiya,
thanks for the relplies.
Its not a metal bowl so guess can rule that out. However he is definitely teething so you may be right about him being cross at his food for it hurting his teeth/gums.

Let us know if you have any other suggestions,

Jo x
