Hi everyone, I am new here but have been reading a lot of the posts that have given me great advice.
I have a 12 month chocolate lab and waiting for a new pup to arrive in 2 weeks, she is a golden lab.
I was just wanting some advice on introducing them and anything special i should do.
Thanks for your time

Hi... you are in the situation I was a few weeks ago!
My older dog is 14 months now... and the puppy nearly 12 weeks.
We didn't do anything special. Just took the puppy home and let them get on with it. Started the routine of getting the pup out for pees and poops and feeding him etc.
Our older dog is a bit long suffering and really pretty much lets the pup hang off every appendage!! We had a few chomped man-dangl-oh's but pretty much they are freindly.
I tend to only intervene if the noise is so loud I can't hold a conversation over it!!

Hi
Dibley and Willow are a year apart. Mainly they just have to get on with it. Like Feebarn we interupt when the noise level gets too high to cope with.
Willow always finds something to hide under if Dibley gets too much. I have to say though she gives as good as she gets if not better.
We have just come back from two weeks holiday together and they just seem to have got closer and closer. Willow being the typical younger sibling who want to be everywhere and get into everything her older brother does.
Just enjoy it is great I just love having two dogs.

I would introduce them in the garden (as pup presumably won't have had second jab by the time you bring them home) and assuming your existing dog is good with other dogs, just let them say hello in their own time, but keep an eye on them, as others have said.
I bought a puppy pen for the garden when we brought Minnie-Moo home. She was in it for about two minutes while the others were outside the pen and I gave them all a few treats and let them get over the initial excitement of a new arrival and then let her "loose" and they all got to know each other. That was the only time we've used the pen
I did watch things closely for a few weeks as M-M was so small compared to the others and it's ages since I've had a puppy so I was worried she'd get squished but they've all been fantastic with her and for her size she really can give as good as she gets.
I'm sure everything will be great. Just make sure your older dog has a chance to escape the pup if he needs to. M-M has been very good in that department and while she's certainly lively and playful as a pup should be, she also chills out nicely with the others a lot of the time.
