Can anyone please give me some advice please:

Milly had the last of her injections on Monday.

Since Wednesday morning we have noticed that Milly has been weeing a lot and since late last night she has been crying to go out nearly all the time. She is squatting every few minutes and whining at the same time. When she has tried to go on the concrete she has passed either nothing or very very little and she looks at me and cries.

When she is in the house she isn't managing to get to the back door before squatting but again very little comes out.

Does this sound like a urine infection? Sorry if I have rambled a bit. Lack of sleep last night! Can anyone help.

PS Have booked her in at vets this pm for kennel cough vaccination - will bring it up then

Ali & Milly xx

Lucy was like this at about the same age. I recognised the symptoms as similar to cystitis and a check-up with the vet confirmed this. She had an anti-biotic shot and some tablets to take for a short while. Vet advised as much water to drink as she can take to flush out the system. Cleared up very quickly and has never returned Smile

Hope this helps. Please let us know how you get on at the vets.

Julie and Lucy

Just reporting in to let you know that Milly does have a cystitis type problem and has a very swollen "private part" - vets words not mine !!!
One injection up the bottom later and a course of antibiotics and Milly is sulking on her bed. If no better in next 24 hours have to take her back.

The one thing that did concern me was the vet asked me what I was feeding her. I have just slowly changed Milly onto Burns from a well known other tinned food however the vet has said she thinks it may be caused by this change. If Milly does not drink enough water whilst on dry food this could cause problems and has asked that I put her back on puppy tins for the next few days at least.

So am now off to the local shop as have no tinned food in!

Will keep you all informed.

Thanks for your concerns

Ali & a sulky Milly xx

I`d be sulking on my bed too if I`d had a needle up my bottom! Laughing , hope that and the meds work for Milly and she`s back to her old self soon.
