ok thought I would have a lazy day today.. might have known that would not happen
got up did dogs had breakfast and then noticed what day and date it was............oh oh oh Dalry show today
it has a fun dog show at it, so Alyson and myself decided to take my little foster puppy along with Niamh and Solo
gets there and the weather is not looking great but nothing ventured nothing gained
now one of the reasons that I had to go was that I won the Best In Show trophy two years ago and .........well forgot to take it back
so off we toddle to the show.....got there and entered my 9 month old foster chocy pup in the Puppy class, she got a 4th out of about 12 pups phewwwwwwwwwwwww so pleased as it was her first ever show
then it was Niamh's turn in the Sporting class and she got a very nice third behind two lovely dogs, there was 10 in this class.....
and last but not least it was Solo's turn in the Open class which had 11 entered...... the class starts off ok but then it was our turn for the judge to have a look at........Solo and I start to move across the ring so the judge can see her move, that was fine but when I turned her round to go back to the judge she decided to have a shake.....yes the kind of shake that dislodges the lead over her head and leaves her free in the ring....oh what a star Solo is she just kept on moving forward and even stood right in front of the judge so he can have another look................his parting comment to me as he moved on to look at the next dog was " show off" if only he knew that if she had realised that she was free she would have been bum tucking all over the field
next was the challenge for Best In Show ( they call it The Callange for The Dog Championship, there words not mine), so in goes me and Solo and all the other winners of their classes............................................................... .....Solo went BEST IN SHOW with the puppy winner taking RESERVE BEST IN SHOW
now we all love and think our own dogs are wonderful but when someone else thinks so too that is even better
well done to everyone who went today, coz if you didn't go it would not have been as good a day, we all had a great laugh, although I got the feeling most of the fun was pointed in my direction nothing new there then
Solo can have a special dinner tonight just for being super dopper
