Hi there,
Is anyone's puppies on skinner's field and trial puppy? If so would it be possible to post the feeding guide. I threw away the bag ages ago when i put it in our storage bins and now can't remember...
He was on it when we brought him home but i swapped to burns as he had a bit of a runny tum and i was keenon the burns because of all the natural/holistic claims. With hindsight i think we may have switched prematurely and his runny poos may have been due to the upheaval of leaving mum etc. I thought i'd give it another go mixed 50/50 with the Burns high energy that he's on now.
So if anyone could fill me in that'd be great. He's 17 weeks and about 15kg. Thank you!
The recommended amount for 5-6 months weighing 15-20kg is 375 - 450g a day.If you want to use the 3-4 months amount that is 525 -630g per day (that doesn't make sense to me as that seems like a big drop for an older puppy)but thats what it says on the bag i have here in front of me. I hope that helps.
We have recently changed Jet from Skinners f&t puppy for the same reason his number 2's were very soft. He is now on Royal Canin maxi junior which helped alot (i also mix this with a spoonful of probiotic yoghurt)
I think we'll give the skinners a week or two to see how we go. He's been on it for several days now and poos aren't runny but they are a bit soft and therefore difficult to pick up.
Someone else reccomended royal canin maxi junior to me. I don't really want to keep chopping and changing as i'm sure it's prob not too good for his tum but if we find the skinners isn't working then we'll give that a go. Hopefully we can get that in a smallish bag to try for a few weeks! I now have 3 half empty bags of food that hasn't worked out as well as we'd hoped... Started out on the skinners but he was a bit runny and i liked to simplicity of the burns foods.... burns mini bites.... he didn't gain enough weight on those... so we then trued burns high energy which was great for a few weeks, he put weight back on but over the last week and a half (since he was ill and was on hills i/d diet on the advice of our vet) he seems to have gone off it and is no longer finishing his meals, hence why we've tried mixing it with the skinners which he really does like. I'm sure we'll find the right food eventually... i hope!
