Hi
I had to share this story with you all.
The tale of a puppy suffering from a mysterious illness has touched the readers of a local newspaper.
Since the story of Border collie Buddy appeared in the past week, his owners have been inundated with people offering advice and help.
The family who live in the Fife area have been moved to tearsd by the amount of people who have written, E-mailed and even turned up on the doorstep.
They do not why for sure that the 15 week old pup keeps stumbling and bumping into things, and are pinning there hopes on the suggestion that his co-ordination problems are down to a problem known as myasthena gravis.
Buddy is to be tested by the vet for the condition over the next couple of days. If it is diagnosed, it is treatable. "Myasthena gravis is a condition where the nervous system can't communicate with the muscles.
People have been so generous , some have even put the family in touch with their own vets, who have been so willing to listen to the plight of this famillies pet.
Buddy has been receiving reiki treatment which has helped him temporarily, and they have been walking him using a harness which seemed to give him the confidence that he wont fall down.
The family said that they dont want to see the dog suffering.
I thought that this story was great and the generosity of the people who live locally is great.

A lovely story Colette, and yes Myasthenia Gravis is very easily controlled once diagnosed. My Megan was diagnosed with this at 18months old and lived a reasonably active life until losing her to a brain tumour just last year at 9 years old.

Do not want to make it sound too serious. But I fostered
a rescue puppy, a few years back that did the same. The previous owners told me that she was just clumsy, and had been to the Vet College and they said it was nothing. On consultation with the VEt College re the puppy, although it was true that they had seen the puppy, it was not true that they had said it was nothing.
We then took her to get a brain scan, and it was diagnosed that she had a Brain Tumourl There advise was to PTS which was heartbreaking at 7 months old. but she had no co-ordination at all kept falling over and bashing ito things. Hope this is not what this dog has,
