Last week Graeme and I were on hols and when we went for long hill walks we dropped Corbie off at his grandparents.

Now, I'm English but Graeme and his parents are Scottish.... his mum was trying to get Corbie to sit and was using the 'sit' command and Corbie wasn't responding. So Graeme jokingly said to try it using an English accent and then Corbie sat first time! Laughing

We took him back a couple of days later and they're all telling Corbie what to do in an English accent for a laugh - Corbie must be in on it as he always does what he's told then! I had always wondered why Corbie did as he was told for me but not anyone else Laughing It's all in the accent Wink

Oh, and another funny thing - he pinched his granddad's ball of string off of their kitchen worktop and by the time we found him with it in the garden it was all unravelled and tangled around his legs Laughing

Hi Colette. Corbie sure does make us laugh with his antics - including pinching another sock yesterday Shocked I was clearing up all the dirty ones off the floor and while I was putting those into the washing machine he ate one of my clean ones I had left on the bed ... my fault, I was trying to be careful but had forgotten about the clean pair! Luckily, it re-appeared this morning...

Yes Corbie was from the north east, near Banff.

lol Karen Laughing
Leo does this too, My partner is originally from Edinburgh, and although the accent overall is not much different from dundonian, the dog must notice it.
With me Leo sits, stays down etc on command- with my partner he tilts his head to the side with that confused "what?" doggy look about him Laughing
Also....Socks!! What is it with dogs and socks. Leo usually goes for the smelly ones but if clean ones are about, that will sure do for him too Shocked

lol Cole is in love with socks, his whole body wags when he has one. the other day he had his wonderful lil snout in my clothes...box thing...and theres no way he could see but he managed to nab a pair of socks. I don't have the heart to dicipline him over socks, he never tears them up anyway.
