hi all

just wondering if a half brother and sister mating is considered bad, is it inbreeding, are there any increased risks, and do kc register litters from such parents ?

The kennel club do register litters from any mating, they are a commercial business not an ethical policeman, however, Yes it is considered inbreeding. Inbreeding is something only extremely experienced breeders should consider with every possibly genetic health check undertaken first and for very specific and detailed reasons.

Doubling up on poor dogs or health problems which are genetic is extremely negative and in a gene pool our size, in my opinion there is absolutely no need for it.

It would be playing with absolute fire in the wrong hands and with the wrong dogs.

I agree with Di - that's too close and could potentially do more damage than good. Any pups could have serious health problems.

Mating related dogs should only be done with caution and requires a great deal of experience..
