The one today in larkfield it looks as though Kian has measles
Im terrified. He had the vaccine seperatly, the three seperate injections done privately, I thought you couldnt get it
We were told it was tonsilitus and an ear infection and the headache coming from the temp, the infection causing the temp blah blah blah, but now there is a rash so looks like its that.
Got to take him medoc at 11.30 so cant see me being able to come with him like this
I'm sorry to hear that it looks like Kian has measles. I just wanted to let you know that the same thing happened to me when I was a child (many, many moons ago!). I had had the measles vaccine (again a separate one as the MMR wasn't around then) so my Mum let me play with my next door neighbour who had measles.......I think you can guess the rest! As fantastic as I think vaccines are, sadly, nothing is foolproof it seems.
I do hope that Kian is feeling better soon and that Medoc are able to reassure you.
Take care.
All the best,
Nic & The Boys (Black Lab, Smudge, Yellow Lab, Jester and Pinkador, Baby Jack!)
My sons have recently had the exact same thing. Headache, tummy ache, temperature and a rash - it turned out to be a really nasty virus.
When I say a temp it was over 40 They both weret aken to hospital because of their symptoms ie headache, temp, lethargy, rash and were monitored over night - my husband was also admitted to hospital for 4 days due to the same virus - it is really really nasty
As it happens I won't be going either as I was down meddoc last night at 10.30pm with my eldest - he's got tonsillitus to - he suffers really badly from this on regular occasions - but he is really poorly
Just got in from the hosp, they think it may just be a virus, he also has tonsilitus and an ear infection, and his temp has only just started going down, its been 40 since yesterday. Theyve said its either a virus or milder measles as hes had the single vaccines. I dont know what it is, but either way its awful and he is so ill
Sam that sounds exactly the same, just read your post, Im wondering if that is what it is.
Kian suffers with his tonsils and his ears too so this isnt helping him He was off all last week with the temp and tummy ache, now he cant go in coz of this! I dont mind him being at home obvioulsy but he is having so much time off with his ears and everything that Im worried its affecting him not being there. aarrggh kids!
Sorry to hear Kian`s not well, hope he picks up soon.
Have you both spoken to your docs about getting their tonsils removed?, altho i used to get a lot of tonsilitis as a kid, the doc said i`d grow out of it which i did, but like you say it does mean missing a lot of school and thats not always easy to catch up on, specially these days with all the exams they have to do at an early age
Hello, just thought i would let you know that when my son was 4 he had tonsilitis 9 times in a year,he also had several ear infections. The doctor recommended that George started taking vitamins from Tesco called fitvits and they were teddy bear shaped and they contained magnesium which many childen are lacking if they dont eat oily fish etc.He hasnt had it since and he is now 12.Children are such a worry, even when they grow up.My other son was treated for tonsilitus once and he was ill for 2 weeks and then his skin on his hands and feet started peeling off in huge pieces and i was worried sick.It turned out that he had scarlet fever!!Thankfully that is very rare.
