Not had a proper look through this site for some weeks - busy with house move, settling kids into new schools and making garden fences remotely dog proof. So was quite suprised last night to follow some of the threads about people falling out and leaving etc.

What I'm still more suprised about though is that the rather odd post collating information about Traveller sites is still up and that people imagine that this is in anyway helpful or will promote the welfare of dogs. I don't want to pass any comment on anyone responsible other than to say this strikes me as an exercise in appalling bad judgment and presentationally puts back the campaign for people to act against the wicked crime of dog and pet thefts many steps indeed.

I don't doubt that there aren't bad apples in various communities up to no good, but why not try and engage with groups constructively and sympathetically. No matter how you "sanitise" this it smacks of scare mongering to no good end.

I'm really sorry that people have fallen out over this and have no wish to fan the flames but felt I had to say something and would suggest to the moderators that they remove this thread soonest.

Hi Michael,

There's a simple answer to this. Wink

Please read www.lostlabs.com.

You'll find everything you need to know on there, and will discover the reasons why it is important to let members know the whereabouts of travellers sites.

NO ONE in the post is suggesting anything i.e. travellers are a nuisance or whatever you want to call it - the people who run our sister site (Who work voluntarily 7 days a week 24 hrs a day) are trying there very best to prevent YOUR and whoever elses lab from getting stolen. They have the statistics - and if you need to know any more information then please feel free to pm me. Wink

As this discussion has already taken place on another thread, this need not be a new thread to debate the subject. I hope you will understand that four members of my staff have resigned, and i feel it will be adding fuel to the fire most definately.

This thread will be locked by myself - my choice (as admin of the site) Wink

Thank you for your understanding, and like i said, please feel free to pm me.

All the best,

Julie
