I write with a heavy heart. We said goodbye this morning to my darling Penny at 10.40am. Penny for the last 4 years lived with my best friend mother who was suddenly widowed and was desolate.
Penny was retired from working due to an injury and had produced me 3 beautiful litters and a singlet puppy and they begged to be matched together... so Penny went to live with Freda. It was hard and I have never rehomed an older dog before or since but it was absolutely the right thing to do.
I kept close contact seeing Pen sometimes daily. They were made for each other, two old girls doddling along together.
Penny was related to many of your dogs through her sire being Stormley Craftsman at Ludska and her dam being Jamberet Jequity who is closely tied in with the Harrop labradors.
Penny was a sweet, generous, kind, happy girl who never had a days illness in her 12 years until the last two months when a chest infection developed from catching Kennel Cough. She deteriated and after four courses of antibiotics we found yesterday evening her kidneys were failing.
We said goodbye this morning and freda held her as she slipped away.
No dog could of had a better life. She lives on here through Mallie her grandaughter.
Thank you Penny for everything you gave me.
