I have read in a couple of post replies that it is indeed possible to show a castrated dog... what would be the process of going about doing this in terms of exemptions/permissions from the KC etc. etc? Where could I get additional information from?

Thanks Very Happy

I'm not sure, but you may have to write to the KC to ask for "permission to Show", if you do, the next meeting is on 15th May 2007.

This is who I have to write to after Izzy is hopefully dismissed tomorrow Smile

Kelly Prosser
The Kennel Club,
Shows Department,
1-5 Clarges Street
Piccadilly
London
W1J 8AB

You may have to include a letter from the performing Vet to accompany your own letter, giving details of the operation.

Why not email them from the KC website.......I emailed them a while ago, I 'll go look out the email address for you, back soon Laughing

Okay, here the email address;

Sylvia.Lyus@thekennelclub.org.uk

Explain that he has been castrated and she'll be able to tell you what to do, hopefully if you do it now, she'll get back to you by 6 p.m tonight. Smile

When i did this i just asked for an Application to show a neutered dog form, they sent me that, i filled it in, sent it back and within a week got a letter back saying they had updated their records and wishing me luck showing him Very Happy

He's not been shown since, but its nice to know i can if i want to. As it doesn't change the dogs conformation it doesn't have to go before the committee to be discussed, you literally just have to tell them its been done Smile

Maybe all you need is this form then, from the Kennel Club. But it wouldn't hurt to email and enquire Wink
