Mandy is off out for a meal with Gary so asked me to post instead (was going to let her do it ... Mandy & Gary met me this morning in Selkirk.. for our open show.. Hunters very 1st show at 6mths 5days... also Tia and Wallace... Mandy is a brilliant show slave.. now fully booked for the rest of the year (havent told her yet though ) usual handler for Tia not entered at this show.. oh dear.. wanders into ring with 3 labs attatched to me shouting.. any handler please A lovely lady (didnt even get her name) said she used to handle labs, she would take one for me.. so handed her Tia... Mandy took Wallace I took baby Hunter.. 7 Labs entered in the class... Lady, Mandy and I stood the dogs.. talk about double handling with Tia lol.. only had eyes for me... so I stood between Wallace and Tia.. trying to get both their attentions while handling Hunter... (Keystone Cops.. eat your heart out ) Judge asked us all to run round ring twice... and then took them individually.. Well, because I know my own dogs and both Tia and Hunter need a good strong pace to show potential.. I run all the dogs.. one after the other.. wont say what the judges comment was on my level of fitness.. but please.. 10times round and up and down the ring would kill anyone now to the good bit and you should have seen Mandys face... when judge pulled her out with Wallace... Results... 1st Wallace 2nd a Sudeo dog 3rd Tia Reserve Hunter Best of Breed Wallace.. (brilliantly handled by Mands) Thank you so much Mandy.. hope you had a wonderful day... delighted you took a 1st at your very 1st show.. Well done
