Hi
we took izzzie to the vets on thursday because she was limping slightly on her right front leg. Vet Said she could of slipped or pulled mucsle playing in snow. she is very excitable being only eight months old.
Vet Gave injection and course of Rimadyl.Today (Sunday) she has become very tired and very uneasy on her back legs, if she gets up she cannot sit down but at the same time she is very restless. i have read reports about this drug and i would like to know if i should phone the vets now or wait untill the morning.
If anyone could give a bit of advise now it would be appreciated.

Now, at 8 months old she could actuially have a condition called pano, which is otherwise known as 'growing pains'. The fact she was limping on a front leg in the week, but now this has switched to her back legs affecting her is a classic symptom of pano.
basically it is a problem caused when the dog is naturally growing a little quickly for its joints, tendons and muscles. they try to keep up but it doesn't always work and so, as the dog grows, the lameness varies from leg to leg, whichever is hurting most *that day*.
A classic symptom is that the dog slightly limps on one leg one day, switches to another a couple of days later, the another a couple on from that and so on....
Id this switching legs continues over the nect few days I would call your vets back and say you think it is possible panostitis and seek another opinion. On the plus side, as the dogs growth slows down and its weight levels off the lameness tends to diaappear and never return as it was a joint/muscle/tendon thing and NOT a lasting problem.
