Our 9 week old lab likes to wake us up in the morning, he gets up on the bed and starts to lick and does his chewing thing, but he has bad breath. Embarassed Is there mint dog biscuits or something we can give him. How do you solve the problem? Embarassed

What are you feeding him on ? Because wet food can cause bad breath also have a look to see if his teeth are ok.

He's only had 'em a few days Kev! Wink

At this stage in his life, with all the changes he's had in such a short time, change of home, change of water, change of people around him i've no doubt his tummy is not as bright as it could be. Things should improve shortly.

Regards, John

Right now we are feeding him can food. Pedigree Choice Cuts Chicken. We also give him Pedigree dry food for adults, but he doesn't eat that one much. We took him to the vet to get his shots and deworm him, and the vet said he is healthy. You think it's the can food? Maybe we should just add water to his dry food instead?

I'm an old man and have only just grown to accept dry complete food, remembering back to the days when it first arrived on the scene and the problems it caused. I still prefer something a little less "Clinical" when feeding young puppies. I've used tins with my puppies but I combine a little terrier biscuit meal with it to give them something to chew on. When I do start them on complete I always feed it wet until they are around a year old.

I stress, that's just an old man talking. Just about everyone has their own ideas on whats best.

ok this much i can tell u that puppies can have HORRIBLE bad breath. Ask me i know. I couldnt let her near my nose or i would puke. Guess what we found out? she had a tummy infection. Is ur puppy's stool soft and shooting? if thats so then tell the vet immediately. His bad breath maybe coz of his/her tummy infection. otherwise its just the food and or teeth.
