|
I know it might be a long shot but could anyone recommend a dog guard for a Vauxhall Vectra?
We pick up our new car today (a vectra estate) and the world of dog guards is totally new to me
I went onto the vauxhall website and they were very pricey
I have seen some universal dog guards at places like argos & tesco which were aroung £20 which if they did fit would be ideal but I don't know if they will
Bailey is quite a chilled traveller, and even though she hasn't travelled in a boot before I'm pretty sure she will be relaxed in there too......so I doubt that she is going to be scratching or anything at the dog guard
But we do need one there as I don't want to leave a tempting gap for her
Any advice appreciated.....I know hardly anything about this subject
Oh and our car is an 06 so the newer vectra shape.....thanks in advance

Hve you thought of a dog crate instead. That way you would be able to fold the seats if needed. I use a Ferplast. It is solid plastic on three sides with sliding mesh doors, there is bags of room (I fit three Labs and a Terrier or I large Rotty and a Labrador in with ease). It is so light to lift in and out of the car and it is dead easy to clean out. It also means that you can have the hatch open with your dog in the car and the dog gets lots of air, if you need to stop and dog not get out.
I got mine from petplanet for about £60. The down side is that it doesn't fold away, it just comes apart top from bottom, but you can use the bottom as a dog bed.

To be honest I have found the universal ones to be pretty useless. I have a peugeot 206 Estate and although it was much more expensive I invested in one of peugeots guards, it has been excellent, fits perfectly and doesn't move an inch!

We have thought about it and I haven't ruled it out but my hubby says a firm 'no'.....and it's taken me quite some time to persuade him to get an estate so I'm quite happy to agree with a dog guard at the mo
Not sure of his reasons.....our next door neighbour has 2 in his car and I think this is the reason as he doesn't like the look of them
