This is the story.
Ozzy is scared of nothing not other dogs, cars, bikes, not even fireworks.
He can climb the stairs like a bat out of hell!!!
But he is scared to come back down Rolling Eyes
I have tried treats even slowly going down on my bum to help him. He will not budge. It maybe because he is to young yet but I have a fear that as he bolts for the stairs at every chance. Soon he will get to big for me to carry back down.

I have had a vision of calling my husband to come home just to get him down. How Embarassed embarassing that will be!!!

LOL Julie, it would be best though to deter him from going upstairs, as he is still a baby it could be bad for his hips/elbows.

Are you able to put up a baby gate, or a dog gate, can get them from Argos i believe, and also think that the baby gate is cheaper and does the same job Very Happy

I already have, but with 2 young girls 4 & 8 yrs old. They tend to be the ones who he gets the better of when they are going through the gate.
Kids Rolling Eyes They seem to be up and down those stairs like no bodies business.

I have the same thing with Charlie on stairs. He is not generally allowed upstairs in our house, and we kept the baby gates in place to stop him.

If he ever did get upstairs he would get up them with no bother, but was the very devil to get down again, a real scaredy cat. He can manage it now, but he is still not allowed, as that is the place where we like to keep things he must not chew.

A little more dificult then, what I do with CJ on the odd occasion he escaped the living and goes to say "Hi" to the kitties (and empty their trays Confused Rolling Eyes ), I go up and hold his collar to be sure he does`nt throw himself down!. You could try that with Oscar, just hold his collar gently and encourage him to come back down, gentle tugs are sometimes in order. It`d be like us looking down from the top of a mountain, very scary! Smile

We have a gate on to stop Max going up and down and I wondered if he too would get the better of the kids but my kids think it's fun to climb over the gate. Rolling Eyes Thank god the gate wasn't for the kids!
