Just wondering why some labs have a pinky /brown nose while some have black noses? And can their noses change colour?
Winston's nose has always been black, but this last week it looks like it's starting to fade.

Charlie's nose is pinkish. If we get a long hot summer (wishful thinking Rolling Eyes ) then it tends to blacken. Otherwise, in cooler weather it remains quite pink.

I think it might be called "winter nose", although Charlie's has remained in winter mode all of this year. Rolling Eyes

It is called, 'winter nose'.

In the winter the nose, if normally black can fade a bit to a brownie colour. There are some herbs that can help a bit with this....kelp tablets.

If the nose is pink, brownie coloured all the time it is a yellow dog without the proper pigment.

Milo has got very good pigment but her nose slightly fades in the winter so I give her kelp tablets...available from Dorset Herbs.

I think it also fades as they get older.

Hope this has helped......Winstons nose is just brilliant. xx

I hope this link explains it properly to you. I have one with chocolate points and the rest all have varying shades of pink!

Hi Bailey had a black nose when we got him but after about 12 months it went to the pinky colour and has stayed that way now for 12 months.
