Chester was at the vets this aftenoon, hoping to get the all clear after his castration last Wednesday... He has been crate rested, coned, no walks, small lead walks, crated, coned, bored bored bored..
I thought the wound was drying up, as I wasn't getting much when dabbing it the last few days, the swelling has started to go down, so I thought today would be a good visit, and he would get the all clear to get his freeeeeedom back..... but no..
The vet checked the wound, said it was 'better' but considering he was 'done' last Wednesday, he is not impressed with how it is panning out... he squeezed the wound, and out came the 'dried bits' followed by fresh puss So.. he is on 4 more days AB's, and if it is not cleared up 'completly' no puss, no redness, no blood, no swelling then he said he will have to open the wound up, and 'see' what is wrong Ouch!!!! and take a swab to send off..
So Chester is THOROUGHLY peed off, and so am I to be honest!
On the plus point, the vet was talking to me about what great shap he is in, and what a lovely temperament he has.. he did some sit,come, down etc for some treats, and he loved him to bits, and started talking about his lab bitch at home... and we talked 'lab' for a while..
So... off to stock up on Kongs, chews etc, as poor little man is still not allowed his freedom!
Aww poor Chester he is having a rough time of it Lets hope the next 4 days on the ABs does the trick.
~~~~~~Sending loads of healing vibes Chester's way~~~~~~
My girls send big lick to him too xxx
Awwwww, poor Chester, and poor you. Sorry to hear he is still having such a rough time.
I wonder if the appearance of fresh pus means that an abscess has formed in there somehow? I know it can happen in some wounds to dogs. I am certainly no expert though, so lets just hope not, and hope that the ABs finally do the trick.
Am so very sorry to hear this - poor Chester! Give him a love from us - Neo says he is really disappointed he was looking forward to walkies with Chester next week....hopes Chester will better very soon for walkies and fun.... he needs a break from exuberant pups!!!
I hope that the AB's do the trick this time Suzy and Chester is better and let out on parole.... I think I would asking some pertinent questions about the castration all centreing around the "n" word - and the "c" word - compensation....
