My vet prescribed my dachshund Synoquin but I forgot to ask, how am I supposed to give it to her? On the package it says that they are sprinkle capsules, does that mean I am supposed to break the capsule and spread the stuff on her food? What happens if I give her the whole capsule to swallow? I know the amount I am supposed to give her (one capsule twice a day) but I have no idea how. And it doesn't have any helpful information on the package either.

Sorry, this isn't actually labrador-related, but I am panicking a bit, because I already gave her the first one, but I gave her the whole capsule, I didn't 'sprinkle' it on anything. Rolling Eyes

it would depend on how easily your daschie eats stuff from you. If I wave a capsule in front of my lab as if its food then throw it like a treat, its pretty much gone before you can smile!

If you know the dog won't take it, just mix it into a small amount of food and feed him that. Make sure he has eaten all that before you go on and feed the rest. Its always easier if its a bit tasty treat like some tuna or something! Smile

I wouldnt worry about the capsules, Harvey has these if the vets have no tablets. We put them in his breakfast and dinner and are gone in seconds Laughing
