The BIG southern BEACH and BBQ BONANZA (1st w/e in Sept)

Right peeps, am starting a new thread for all those who fancy meeting up on the sandy shores of the south coast, for a wee paddle, possible a BBQ (otherwise picnic) with fellow members.....

I have just this moment, e-mailed the West Wittering Beach people, to ask how much actual 'space' is available in the area we ARE allowed in during this time (as there are restrictions until end of Sept) and if BBQ's are allowed. Will wait with baited breath on their response.

There has also been voices about Littlehampton beach too. Idealy, we want somewhere that's sandy rather than pebbly...is Littlehampton sandy?

So, I'm thinking Saturday 6th Sept would be a great day, as it still leaves everyone Sunday to enjoy before having to go back to work/school etc. So, who's up for it?

GREAT NEWS! I had an email back from the peeps at West Wittering Beach, and it goes like this....

"Good morning,

Yes the far west of the beach is still available to you as is all of East Head. I have attached a copy of our map of the beach which may clarify.

Barbecues are permitted on our beach and car park subject to safe use and disposal. Please see safefy page on our website.

Hope you enjoy your visit.

So, how does everyone feel about this? Dogs CAN go on the beach, and there's plenty of space where they are allowed AND we can have a BBQ too! Ticks all the boxes!!!!

I'm keen to join in the fun, go to wittering lots and we are due another visit sometime in September. I can only do Saturdays, am working Sundays. Will know in about a week whether i can commit to coming, but i'm a definately maybe!

great response from wittering, at least the say you can use BBQs on their beach..

unfortunatley i dont think we will make this one either, inlaws have booked us a weekend camping next to the Thames. will let you know if that changes though.

Littlehampton is very sandy and shallow for about half a mile out. just for future reference.
