" Deeds would have to join some crazy American cult "

I was going to say something along those lines, Harriet but thought there might be folks who would get all up themselves about such a joke Wink Wink

I have noticed him taking on some odd cult like habits lately - sacrificing small children (well it is the summer holidays...), chanting strange mantras (more food more food more food or something...) and playing his favorite Cliff Richard records backwards, making them take on a slightly sinister air.....

...So you never know....

Unbelieveable, thankfully LF has been able to educate many on what they really should be looking for if wanting to mate their bitch or even use their dog at stud, sadly though many others will still use those and then wonder why their pups have come out choccy or black coloured Shocked

" Maybe some folk are intimidated by the 'proper' breeders? Especially if they haven't carried out any health tests and almost certainly if their bitch is not KC registered "

Nicky I am certain you are exactly right. The common phrase - 'I only want to breed pets so why use a competition stud dog?' rings in my ears at least a couple of times a month down the phone - more often over the email.... so I'm certain you are right thats exactly it. They feel daunted by doing it what they see as the 'posh way'... ;-(

I suppose they are written in good heart, just ignorance. But I have to say I was quite amazed! What amazes me more is any of these sort of dogs actually get USED. The bitch owners can scan down to well written correct adverts and see how 'the other half do it' for pretty much the same stud fees reading the adverts at length. I wonder if anyone then dismisses the good adverts and goes to these people and their dogs for service?

Di

I suspect, from looking at the "free-ad" type ads as I have in the past (and I know they are not all bad but the majority aren't great) , that there are a lot of bitches who are bred from but wouldn't be allowed near a decent stud dog.

Goodness though, those ads are mind blowing. I did recently see an ad asking for a stud dog (though for a staffie) and this owner wasn't bothered about whether the stud even had KC papers, just as long as he was available NOW.

Nice amount of care, responsibility and planning going into that mating then. Like there aren't enough staffies being bred and sat in pounds waiting to be pts as it is Crying or Very sad)

Jet says he's glad he's had his pockets picked, as he would want to marry an ugly bitch Laughing Laughing

I clicked on a link from LF to a free ads site a while back and was disgusted with the ads that I found.

The majority of them didn't mention health tests Confused so perhaps people are coming to this wonderful forum and then clicking on the ads and going out and buying one of these puppies from some of "those" caring breeders.
