we have these cloth things that absorb up a metric tonne of water... got them at one of these ideal home thingies... wish I could remember the name. They are yellow... got 2 for a tenner and a free smaller blue thingie for windows.... we use one under his bowl because he has some kind of brain versus mouth closing problem! They would be great as back door mats.... I'll ask the OH... he might remember!

Turtle mats are fantastic !!!
I have one by the back door and a long runner one inside my front door , they are expensive but when Abbey comes in from the garden i make her sit on the mat for a few seconds and when she walks off there are no wet paws prints on the kitchen floor
I have had mine about 2 years now and they wash and look like brand new every time , i would highly recommend them.

We have 3 of them in a line inside the back door, Callan now knows when I point from end to end that he has to walk up and down on it, a couple of strolls up and down gets his feet 95% dry

I use an old towel, nothing else seems to work as well.

I have genuine turtle mats and tbh unless you can get your dog to sit on them for a while or stand then they don't work any better than an old towel on the floor which is what I use now. Bo loves to swim but he doesn't like rain so chances of stopping him as he shoots in through the backdoor when it's raining is nigh on impossible It's a shame they don't make a mat from microfibre as thats the most absorbant thing I have.
