OOOOHHHHHH WOOOOOOOOOW
He is so gorgeous, you are soooo lucky, anyway, I am not a vet or anything, however the symptons you describe sound very much like some kind of skin irritation, my Lab had that from grass seed on his belly but it can also be caused by a flea allergy, and was given a steroid cream to soothe the irritation, however someone else recommended me to use a mild solution of tea tree oil or if you can get it lavender oil, its harmless to dogs if they eat it (accidently).
I use lavender oil now on Jack if he starts scratching madly and also on small bites and scratches (makes him smell all nice).
Anyway, hope that helps a little, and good luck with him.

Well the vet said he believes he's full blooded. To quote him, 'Labs are a dime a dozen 'round here. There's no boxer in this dog. Boxers are in high demand and the lady probably lied to give them away.'
I didn't realize they could have other colorings! He has a blaze on his chest and maybe 3 white hairs sticking out of the end of his tail!
He's not biting today! May have been the sand!!!
He's also walking but gently. I cannot, for the life of me, find anything on his pads or in between, etc. The rocks out back seem to 'grow'! You can rake them up and first rain, there they are again! Georgia soil is the pits!

Diane
Who cares if he has a little of something else in him, he is really beautiful and looks so labbie like.
White hairs - well Jack bless him had the (whispered so he can't hear) chop if you get my meaning and now he has a sprouting of white hairs where his bits used to be, Jack is full blooded Lab, so white hairs shmite hairs.
Its great to welcome you to the forum, I'm quite new as well.

Oh and he's such a JOY! So much fun and so much energy. I do child care and have people come in and out. We also have a cat. He's just as nice as can be to all.
Shhh.... 3 months and then 'under the knife' for Scooter!

Diane
Labs are a joy, they are wonderful with people, young and old and great with other animals (we have 3 cats).
Jack has just become a Pets As Therapy Dog, which means we go around hospitals and hospices bringing the joy of having a companion dog to people who may not be able to have one, also they are used a therapy for children with disabilities.
