I've just noticed that there are a lot of comments about the stink in your kitchen when making liver cake. Being a veggie myself I find it pretty foul too, but I cook it in the microwave rather than the oven - it still smells, but for far less time 500 g liver plus garlic & egg takes 5 mins on high in my microwave.
I also make it with a large tin of pichards in tomato sauce - I add a few oats to thicken it, plus 2 eggs & a clove of garlic. THat cooks for 7 to 9 minutes, and smells less offensive.
