It is the central cob that causes the real problems. Doesn't digest.

I get paranoid when we go on walks through the fields after they have harvested the large ears of sweetcorn. Cobs and husks are all over the place for ages and the dogs will just pick them up, especially labs.

I shall be even more paranoid this year following Charlie's recent stomach problems.

Its strange but true... so much so- we tell patients to use bags of frozen sweetcorn as icepacks rather than peas as its 'indestructible' when defrosted and frozen numerous times- unlike peas which go mushy.

Luckily no one here likes sweetcorn, whole and the amount we go through loose frozen or from a tin- the dogs dont get a look in

My old goldy - Yogi, ate a sweetcorn cob once without me knowing - about 3 weeks later he vomited it up - yuk ......it was green and smelly.

I moved the veg rack after that!!!! Rolling Eyes
