An easy question, Jamu decided today for the first time to **** his leg on our bed! He has never done this in the house before and this is his first time. If I take hime to the vets to have him done, would this solve this problem? Or is this a one off honest mistake, or will it make no difference for Jamu either way?

I disagree with Mel, CJ was doing the same kind of thing, now he`s been castrated he did do it a couple of times afterwards but I think that was more because I did`nt react to his signals that he needed to go out.

He has`nt done it since, an added bonus is that he`s calmed down too and is no more responsive to me and less interested in everything else, this could have come naturally I suppose but I`ll never know and put it down to his being "done". JMHO Smile

Corbie did **** his leg up the sofa on a few occassions when he was about 5 months old... luckily it only happened over a period of a couple of weeks and about 5 times or so in total. He's never done it since (now 8 months old) and he's not castrated.

Neutering does not always stops this,

How are you cleaning up after him? If you are using a cleaning agent such as Ajax liquid (the ones which turn white in water) then you must realise that they contain ammonia, which is very similar in its chemistry to urine - which means the dog feels the need to remark the area. To clean away totally, absorb as much liquid as you can, then wipe the area with a hot solution of biological washing powder. Dry, and wipe over with white spirit. Test on an area that's inconspicuous ofcourse. This will break down the fatty acids that hold the smell Very Happy

lol that is so funny because chester has become very territorial and when he smells another dog he immediately lifts his leg...well the other day i was sitting in the driveway playing with him and our neighbors lab puppy bailey and bailey must have gotten excited and piddled a little and chester lifted his leg and peed ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGh i was so humiliated because my fiance was standing there. and he was laughing so hard so i tried to act mad but i laughed too! but i was still red in the face. chester is still intact we are planning on breeding him so i don't mind the peeing other dogs pee so much but i didn't enjoy him doing it on me!
