My Little Girls

Hi,

Haven't been around for a while as we've moved house and it took forever to get the broadband connected!

Just thought I'd update you on my little girls Izzy & Jenna. It's so wierd, I admit I wondered if I would feel the same about them as I do my Danes, but I adore them. They are such different characters, Jenna is laid back and cuddly and Izzy is the sharper tool in the box, so to speak!

They are doing all the things Labs do of course and life is a constant "No" but they seem to have calmed down on the nipping now, they are both good on the lead (hubby & I take them off in different directions, so that they get individual walks to help with training). Jenna doesn't like water and Izzy loves it, she loves the hose, tries to drink the spray. They both adore getting covered in mud!

They both know "Sit" well now and we're progressing with "Stay", although again this is something we have to do individually, so that they don't distract each other.

Have had a problem with Izzy being rough with Jenna and taking a lump out of her face and so we're mindful of the fact that the time will come when we may have to seperate them if we're not around. I know a lot of you are very wary of having 2 pups from the same litter and I think you are right to be so. It is not for the faint hearted, it takes a lot of time to offer each pup the individual attention it needs. Having said that, I can't imagine life without either of them.

As an owner of two from the same litter - I sympathise!! Its hard work. Sounds like you are doing a good job though. I would advise taking time to seperate them on walks etc when you can (as you're doing) as they form such a close bond that any seperation later on can be impossible!
