How much sleep should an 8 week old have? Alfie sleeps quite a bit through the day. I don't remember George sleeping so much when we brought him home but he was nearly 11weeks when we got him. Is it normal for alfie to sleep so much? He is very active when awake!
He's a Deeds pup Lorna so he's gonna sleep loads!!!!
Happy (thankfully) takes after her dad and thoroughly enjoys her zzzzz's!! From 7 weeks she slept through the night and now takes herself off to bed about 9-10pm and woe betide you if you try and get her up before 7.30am, she wont even eat her brekkie if you try and give it to her before then, just lies there looking at it as if to say (in the words of her dad) 'I cant be arsed!!'
Seriously though, she used to sleep for a few hours, wake up for about half an hour then sleep again... to be honest at 14 weeks, she's not much diff now!! We'l sort out a meet up when Alfies had his jabs!
Honey slept loads at that age, nap for half an hour then play for half an hour and so on. At night she would sometimes go to bed as early as 6.30 (of her own accord) and aleep til next day. Lazy bones!! Stays up much later now and not as many naps during day.x
When I first brought Pud home my dad had me convinced that my dog was broken! He did nothing but sleep for the first few days - despite lots of people coming to visit! He is still a laid back dog who loves his bed! Some evenings he is in his basket from 6pm, quick wee at my bedtime and then back in till the next morning!
Make the most of it - i'm sure he makes up for it when awake!
CJ used to hare about for a bit and then just collapse where he was and sleep for a while then repeat , they do sleep a lot as youngsters, much like babies do and as they get older they`ll stay awake and cause havoc for longer, as someone said, make the most of it while he`s like this
