  |
|
I am going to be totally new to this soon.
I have one dog that still pulls on the lead but is great when i have treats.
She is excellent off the lead even in busy built up areas but I still have to be alert and give her commands.
If I get another dog (a pup) I imagine my life is going to get a whole lot harder.
How do you go about walking 2 dogs on the lead.
Presumably you need to do quite a lot of regular heal work with the pup in islotion as well as walking with the other older dog.
Are there any double or connected leads out there for 2 dogs to be effectively harnessed together side by side etc or anything similar that isnt simply holding 2 separate leads.

Morning......walking two on same lead they'd have to 'perfect'on a lead Have had two/three at one time to walk and found that they go different ways sniffing etc can be quite a challenge At the moment i have a year old who's heel work is a work in progress especially at the min as hormones taking over Too many lovely lady smells about! Do give him extra training on his own, can't do that with the other at the min as she's far to timid on her own.
Also have a ex-breeding bitch who has never been on a lead until two weeks ago (walks are an experience) as she is learning and weaving about all over the show Having said all that walk one on each side, as my year old tends to get excited when he sees another pooch so need to keep him close to me as he is rather large and strong!!! My first labs would happily walk along side eachother next to me or just ahead of me with no pulling was something that came with time and patience.God i've waffled on sorry, useless info but just what i've done.

I walk my two on my left. Willow who needs more control of the two is on the 'inside' beside me- I use two separate leads. Jets lead is held in my left hand only and Willows in my right but fed through my left for added control. It works for me and it was really trial and error that I came to use it that way....Dora will not be coming out with them until she is reasonable on her lead or I have help from my Daughter or Husband- but then not for a full walk for a few months yet. I dont want Willow to lead her astray!
