Well Last night about 5.30am Harvey woke me up coughing and dry reaching with white flem was coming out. I was frantically running around the house to see if he swallowed something, however I could not find any evidence or no destruction of some sort.

I was panic mode and did not know what to do, I was rubbing is throat and smacking his back.

I called the vetinary hospital (after hours) and she said to keep an eye on him for half an hour then bring him down. I waited then he stopped.

When the sun finally rose, I made an appointment and took him down to the vets even though he stopped dry reaching. She checked him out. He seemed healthy enough.

She said its a reaction to the kennel cough vac. You see on Monday I took him down for his last vac and kennel cough vac.

She said 1 in 1000 dogs get this reaction to the vac. She explained to me that the vac alone once given to the dog, can it kennel cough like symptoms. What it does its a vac againts kennel cough however it can give the a small dose of the cough, this is helping the dog build up its immune system.

Anyway so my poor little boy, once again is in the wars. He has anti - biotics and cough medicine.

Touch wood he hasn't cough since yesterday morning (which is when he went to the vets).

I am so glad it was this, than something he swallowed!!!

Sad Sad Sad

Awww Rachael, poor Harvey, hope it clears up really soon.

On another note, I used to have a golden lab called Harvey, he was very pale like your baby. We got him as a 5 year old rescue and often wondered what he looked like as a puppy. Probably a lot like your Harvey who is gorgeous.

Sending

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~soothing throatie vibes~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
to Harvey xx
