We used an old duvet (man-made of course) when Meg was little. I cut it into quarters and hemmed the cut sides. Went in the washing machine/drier as necessary and could be slung if too far gone. Very cosy she was too, as it was this time of year (born Boxing Day, now 5 - where did the time go Shocked )

When we used to have our border collie we used a plastic bed full of cheap pillows/cushons (poundland, wilkos) and then with a fleacy blanket on top, worked great she loved it! Very Happy Very Happy

I use Vet bedding, it's quite chew-proof (well almost!), it stays dry on top and washes and drys very well, you can get it at www.profleece.co.uk in a variety of colours.

I use a non-slip backing 1. Smile

Old duvets and covers - often obtained from charity shops or sales in various shops or from people throwing them away.

If you are handy with the old needle and thread, you can cut the duvet up or if like me, just fold into quarters which provides a lovely thick bed. This is then covered up with a spare duvet cover which I change every day and the whole thing including duvet is washed once a week.

Keeps the nasty niffs away!!

The duvets cut up and hemmed are a great idea!!!! - thats what we have started using after wasting money on "cushions" from PAH which Danny then shredded!!!!!

Do you use freecycle? You could always post a WANTED request on Freecycle:

www.freecycle.org.uk

and hopefully get some for nothing, or buy "value" ones from your local supermarket!!!

HTH Very Happy
