make sure that she has a bed to call her own, many people including me , find a create invaluable. You can read up on crates, just make sure it's LARGE. You may find trouble getting her used to it now. It should not be used to lock her away all day. Really do your research on crate training first. If not a large cushion/fleece will do.
Next, practice, with food rewards, training her during the day to lie on her bed. When she does it, give lots of praise and a yummy treat.
Teach her the command 'on your bed' or just 'bed', it's very useful when you have visitors, etc.
With all training remember repetition and consitency are most important. Labs love to please their owners, so if Dakota learns that she gets praise/ rewards for lying in her bed, she'll do it! next you can move onto telling her bed in your room, then in the dark. Try it and see! Remember though, they do forgt sometimes, so keep up the training!!
